The University of Texas Wind Ensemble Conducted by Jerry Junkin, The University of Texas Wind Ensemble has firmly established itself as one of America’s truly elite wind bands. Through it’s seven campus performances per year, or it’s appearances at such prestigious venues as the conventions of the College Band Director’s National Association (four times), the Texas Music Educator’s Association (six times) and the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (in Manchester, England), the Wind Ensemble has been praised for it’s “exhilarating color,” “truly profound music-making” and “remarkable virtuosity.” Works by Ron Nelson, Lowell Liebermann and Gustav Holst (The Planets) At 6:00 pm, following the afternoon concert, a gourmet dinner with complimentary wine is held at Menke House Dining Hall @ $50.70 per person (taxes and service included) Overnight accommodations are also available on the beautiful, 210-acre Festival Hill campus including complimentary Sunday morning breakfast.
